In less than five days I will be waking up in Manhattan and running around wild with the blogosphere elite. I am blessed beyond words to have such amazing friends, and even more so, blessed that we get to bop around major cities doing the things we love. This will be my fourth season for Fashion Week, and I encourage you to take that jump, wanna come to New York Fashion Week? Ok, come! Just book a flight. If not this season, next! Get involved in one of the conferences that are held for bloggers each season, educate yourself – learn from the best, party like a rockstar at Bloggers Night Out and take to the tents. Sounds too difficult? … Than I am sorry dear friend, blogging is not for you. Blogging is difficult. You’ve got to take your faith into your own hands and push yourself to explore new territory unfamiliar with your everyday niche life. After all, isn’t that why you started blogging in the first place? I know that’s why I did.
See you in Manhattan!

HOLLA! So, – like always, so much has happened with my life since my last post! Let’s see – one of my best friends in the entire universe asked me to be her maid of honor, the Bloggers Night Out team has been so hard at work planning NYFW for Feb, as well as for Charleston and Miami, my apartment got robbed [insert long dramatic sob story here], and finally, just finally, the last nine months of my life are finally coming full circle as the event [I work in events for a living] that we have been planning, is to happen next week!! BAH!! so much excitement …
I mentioned to my mum [whilst sobbing] on the phone, that twenty twelve is going to be a year of learning for me – I can just FEEL it, nothing ever comes easy for me, but fuck it [yah you read that], I would rather things not go easy, and I have the chance to learn, grow and get through it – in return for the amazing opportunities, friendships, family, blog and work success. It is a fair trade in my opinion because these are the most important things to me.
I hope twenty twelve is a year of learning for you too, [although I subtract the disadvantages that come with it, I wouldn't wish the crap I go through onto you lol] – I hope you push yourself and grow, meet new people and ask for things you never dreamed of receiving.
Beyond that and getting back to, er … me… this outfit may look a tad familiar … [hello post below lol] – that’s because it’s the same shirt … just in a different colour. I am obsessed with mustard right now, it is a problem. The tweet skirt was a thrifted A-line haggard knee length that I copped into a mini … and of course, 90% of the jewels here are stolen from my mum [thanks mum!]

I am in shock of how fast twenty eleven blew me by. When I think about it, this past year was such a huge part of the foundation that is, and will be, my career. I have chosen the path I want – and am perusing it – guns’-a-blazin. If I could offer you one piece of advise, is to tell someone who you admire your dreams – and they will, hopefully, help you make them come true. Twenty twelve is only just begun, and already I can feel the heat from the kitchen!! I am part of an amazing team and we are throwing a major conference here in Toronto surrounding digital media – it is inaugural but also has a ton of buzz and press about it already, it is something new for Canada – and something that will explode with the amount of dedication and love we have put into it. I cannot wait! Come February New York Fashion week will take over, and the Bloggers Night Out team is in full swing of planning several events across several states for the twenty twelve season. Last year this time I imagined what twenty eleven would look like, like Geneva from a pair & a spare, I too make a different type of resolutions list, more like wishes, hopes and dreams – and all but three last year came true. I highly encourage you to do so, I never would of if a friend of my own didn’t encourage me to do the same, and it is simply mind blowing what you achieve.

Hello beautiful faces and places! excuse the hiatus, if you follow me on facebook or twitter you would know that the Bloggers Night Out team and I held two events last week in conjunction with Bloomingdale’s for the holiday season. You can find more details on our website, but I will reveal it was fabulous, luxurious, and a whirlwind as I flew to and from Boston all within eleven hours for the event.
For those looking forward to the holiday season, Happy Christmas! I am blessed beyond belief and wish nothing but the same for you. These pants just added such a happiness all over my body when I spotted them. I had a massive rush of excitement and even jumped up and down in the store. I had a Christmas party to attend that night, so naturally, these were worn. Epic find. Sequins equal-out-to-be an instant mood lifter so I highly suggest in purchasing something a little sequin-esq this season, it just makes everything perfect. Happy Christmas all.

I had an entirely different outfit planned for this post, in fact – I had an entirely different country as the background OF my post! As most of you know, I was jet-set and off to Jamaica last week for my mama’s birthday and just a little breather from the every-day-whirlwind. Once landed back in Toronto – I soon sunk into my bed and had a blissful sleep whilst having the window cracked and the autumn air surrounding me. Jamaica was wonderful, but Toronto in October is my favorite – I just wished I hadn’t missed all of the colourful leaves while away, but alas – I found some autumn light, and while the weather outside is [yet to be] frightful – I thought I would share this post first. The mixing of-the-ever-evolving-patterns – well this is the busiest yet neutral outfit I think I have ever posted – sort of an oxymoron if you will. I love it because, like I said, the surroundings just enhanced the colour and the over all feel. This could be my own personal favorite.
In any case, I had someone ask – I do indeed live right in the heart of the city of Toronto – but I venture up north every weekend to spend time with my family and friends. My posts are 99.2% of the time shot up north because I firmly believe photography is almost, if not more, important than the actual style of a fashion blogger like myself. I try to match my surroundings to my outfit [not the other way around] so when I get dressed, I have to rack my brain on where to shoot that would complement my outfit. [ me trying to explain blogger logic ... fail! ]
In other news, bloggers seem to be going through a bit of a rut all over the place. I can’t tell you how many blogs I have followed who have disappeared or vanished – thankfully Christina of Profresh Style has written an open forum summing up her feelings towards her own blog and how she is planning to whip herself back into being Profresh! If you are a blogger you should read it – it is so important to remind yourself to keep grounded and not be swayed by brands and influencers, and to also seek refuge in the blogging community, lets all be friends and bitch to one another.
