GROWN WOMAN // evidently, it seems this is where I am in my life. A grown ass woman. I have fallen off the social map. completely … and you you know what? thats a-okay.
There used to be a time (not to long ago) where my priorities surrounded my blog, my business and driving myself to be the best me on the interweb … only … I wasn’t the best me in real life; so why try so hard (unbenounced to myself at the time).
In September, as you may or may not recall, I travelled to Portugal and Spain with my man friend. While I was there I made a monumental decision to quit my job and venture down an insane path. I took a gigantic leap of faith and put all my eggs, shoes, clothes, and vintage thrifted goodness in one pretty little wicker-fucking-basket.
If you ask anyone who knows me personally they will undoubtedly admit that I am the most impulsive and impatient person. To me, I have found a way to balance the two and make it not such a bad combo … but it leads me down paths left, right and centre going a million miles a minute and at times, I sink before anyone really notices I started swimming. (holy analogies!!!)
To be frank. I am not afraid of anything … which means I rarely do something and think about the consequences. Quitting my job in Europe does seem insane … but I assure you … I thought about it long and hard.
I am now working for an amazing agency focusing on an amazing brand. I work with inspiring, hilarious and dirty minded individuals who are incredibly talented at what they do in the workforce. I took a gigantic leap of faith and it paid off (thank goodness, because I’d be pretty fucked).
My point is. I am a grown woman. My blog used to fulfill the down time I possessed, and the priorities I had set, but all that has shifted, greatly … monumentally actually.
And you know what … it feels so good. So good to of had big dreams and to finally be living them. So good to set new goals and see where I end up. At the end of the day, I wish nothing but the same for you.
So this isn’t goodbye, but it is a final notice … it’s a letter letting you know that this blog started for me, and always stayed true to me. I never sold my blog out for advertising or to another brand … I blog because in 10 years it will be pretty sweet to look back at all the ridiculously fucking ugly things I wore and looked damn good in, and I will continue to do so … when I want to.

Two posts in one week! Two posts in ONE week! How lucky are you? … in fairness to the radio silence … the weather here in Toronto has sucked balls.
Take today for instance … flooding everywhere … luckily this was shot last week and Thursday’s was shot Sunday … see what I did there – tricked you!!
Things are great over here, my weekends are spent gallivanting with the man friend to-and-from the city. Rudiger is getting his fair share of country in, he is becoming a weekender-country-bum, chasing squirrels and enjoying 2 hour trips to the park. Spoiled brat. I wish my tan was getting as much action as he is.
Since moving into my new place, my need to DIY has taken over – from headboards and home decor to these ex boyfriend jeans; I’m on a serious roll.
SO many of you have asked me about my other pair of boyfriend jeans that I DIYed, so I am happy to tell you my tutorial will be up on AOL’s StyleList later this month. So look out for that. Until then, check out your local Value Village for a pair of loose fitting Levi’s – TRUST me your local thrift store is full of Levi’s … get a pair that fit nice on your hips, everything else is easy from there.

I had a blast on this shoot, for the first time – ever really – I felt completely comfortable bringing someone with me on my shoot. I enjoy the alone time I have shooting my blog on Sunday’s … but this particular Sunday my boyfriend was with me, and his interest in my world wide web metropolis provoked him enough to come along, be a stand in, and even model for me. If you recall me mentioning, I still shoot my own photos for my blog (I’m a skilled tripod & remote girl), but there is something so satisfying about being in control of the entire process … styling, shooting, editing etc. Plus, when things go awry, the only person to yell at is myself. There were too many photo’s from this post not to share …. forgive me
Can I just start by saying THANK-YOU! holy shit. I knew you were interested in my life … people tweeted, emailed and commented that they were excited about my last post – but honestly, I had NO idea I would of had the amazingly supportive responses that I’ve had, not to mention the biggest hit on my blog. So, deeply, thank-you.
In saying thanks, it is interesting to tell you that the response – from everyone – has been nothing but kind and supportive … this includes the people the last post was about … to whom I didn’t tell before I was going to divulge (rookie mistake).
As time truly does heal all wounds, it is fascinating to be a witness to my own life. I am an incredibly impulsive, live-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kinda girl. If you know me personally (like, in real life) you will know that honestly, the craziest things happen to me – I’m talking about block buster movie disasters and love scenes. Both good and bad. Insane and fortunate. Crazy follows me … but as the boyfriend says to me constantly “fight crazy with crazy baby“.
Now of course it would be cruel not to give you some glimpse at some of the colossal things I’m talking about – and as I blog more I am sure more stories and details as to why these things seem so abnormal or colossal will come up – but the coles notes version starts here.
I’ve managed to flood an entire public school by throwing keys to a friend and hitting the sprinkler on the ceiling, drenching and damaging everyone entirely. I’ve been in a fight with a gang. Totaled my car. Snuck backstage to see Coldplay and score VIP tickets for being so ballsy. Booked trips the same day as leaving. Traveled with Kylie Minogue. Had my apartment burn to the ground (not my fault). Traveled the world. Graduated top of my class. Attended a couple of seasons of New York Fashion Week. Started a successful company. Been to 89 concerts all before the age of Twenty Five.
Now that list may not seem too insane, trust me – it’s not detailed – plus I missed all the gossip haha, but patience my friend … or at least try.

So I am obsessed with music, I always reference tunes … I know a few people care – but I’ve found a way to make it a lot easier to listen to what I post – you have to have a rdio account – but it is 100% worth it and free to stream!
]]>MasterCard Fashion Week starts in less than three days and I find myself digging up new (vintage) treasures as I look in the back of my walk-in-closet. I completely forgot about this vintage skirt my Gran gave me a few years ago – you can’t tell from these pictures, but it is the heaviest thing on earth! It is made from lace and Parisian wool – my Gran picked this gem up in Paris in the 50′s – the rhinestones are original and although a little wacky – just my cup of tea.
I am honoured, again, to be working with MasterCard for the third season in a row in bringing you – my dearest readers – the very best shopping experience on the Stylicty Blog. This year MasterCard has asked me to head up a new division of their blog – the online shopping experience lol. How did they know I have an online shopping problem? dammit! I thought I was so smooth lol. In any case – check the Stylicity Blog out to keep up to date on my shopping adventures – and the other amazing bloggers covering Toronto shoppes.

Chances are if you visit my blog regularly you will have noticed that my blog encompasses a ton of photography, beyond taking the photos you see on my blog myself, I also put as much time into scouting the location for said blog post shoot as I do getting ready. Some are shot close to home, while others, like these industrial ones, are a little easier to get at in the winter times. If you look closely in my right hand you can see the remote for my camera (on zee tripod). I love taking my own photos, and while I am flattered that some amazing photographers in Toronto and else where have offered to take up residency as my official photographer (imagine?!), I am going to continue to keep it real and shoot myself, for … well, myself.
Having said that, there are things I cannot do alone, and one of them is design a new blog foundation and look for this here blog. My very good (talented, amazing, spontaneous, hilarious, design-junkie-of-a) friend Danielle is in the middle of designing my new look – well rather, our new look for my blog. So in the coming weeks expect some changes – but also some down time (but really, how consistent am I anyway?)
A lot of changes are on their way, this year has started off great – getting rid of the things around me that weigh me down, in hopes that bigger and better things are waiting for me around the corner!
Happy Valentines Day to all of the lovers out there.
Work is cray. Life is cray. I’ve given up NYFW this season for my insanity. Truly, that is the only update. As the snow falls like it’s the end of the world outside today, I am grateful I am stuck indoors with the warmth and funny men I work with. Hope you all stay warm today, as you can see, this time last week was a totally different story from the photo’s above. Also, I feel like I should note, this sweater has quickly become one of my favorites — and it is from a store I would never dream of going in – JCrew. Don’t get me wrong – I love the idea of JCrew – I just dont feel my personality aligns with who they market to. I am a little more edgy, but once in awhile I find myself swooning over bright knits and stripes … to wear with something insane, obviously.

Can you tell it’s snowing in these photos? … (look again) … yah. I wasn’t prepared. I went for brunch on Sunday with zee friends and out of nowhere (not really, I live in Canada and it’s January) it started to effing snow.
I repeat. Not. Prepared.
Either way, here I am, wearing a pair of $2 jeans my mum bought at a charity auction. I had an impulse two weeks ago for a DIY and was dying for a pair of boyfriend jeans … but being a girl who doesn’t wear jeans often – correction – three times a year – I found it sort of pointless to purchase. So I rummaged through my closet, found a hideous pair of baggy jeans and voila! I think I should do a DIY video for these … as they turned out exactly like I wanted them to.
Work is cray (man friend says Craig), and although I feel I am being bombarded with emails I honestly do find setting simple goals throughout the day helpful and encouraging. My 2013 dreams list is already panning out, two things on my list are in the works and are being concocted (haha cocted –) and I am trying to take things in stride instead of stressing over things I cannot control. One of them, as mentioned before – is to blog more … YAY two posts for 2013!
I hope your year is off to a great start, January is coming to a close and that just leaves four more months until flip-flops and lip gloss!

Just call me Martha. I am having so much fun wrapping presents and accidentally getting drunk by my lonesome as I wrap the most beautiful gifts for my family and friends. I have to admit though, like every post this month … I will complain that it is more like a cold autumn here rather than winter. I miss the snow, and will continue to pray for a white christmas! Snow does though, have a ton of down falls … one in particular … I wouldn’t be traipsing around a field in a crinoline skirt in snow, but rather, the tall grass reeds offer such a romantic feel. O Canada, this outfit is for you.

I blogged twice this week!!!! yippy!!! AND this week is probably one of my busiest of the year – so I have NO idea how I pulled it off, thanks Manfriend for taking these shots … (usually I take my own).
With World MasterCard Fashion Week aka Toronto Fashion Week coming to a close, you’d think I would be as calm as a cucumber … but alas, after this week it is straight into holiday season for this girl, with corporate events and Bloggers Night Out brewing … you never really know which continent I’ll be on, but something tells me this winter I wont be flocking south … so please stay tuned for that!
Life is finally settling down (physically!) I’ve had some crazy health scares and issues in the last four weeks, (which I will share soon – I promise!), one of my best friends got married and I got to be the best maid of honour ever (her words – not mine!), my Manfriend is bomb, always – and life just seems to be piecing together quite nicely.
I hope things are settling for you before the holidays come rushing in – my words of advice? stop to smell those damn roses, even if they are an over played flower.
And yes …. I am aware my hat says Cock … clearly I take myself super seriously …

]]>Lucky you, I am posting twice this week lol, although 99% of you know I post only on Thursday’s (if that, yah … I know!!) – but this week is different – mostly because I am posting daily on MasterCard Stylicity Blog (YAY me!!), and I thought – huh – maybe I should post more often on my own blog this week, seeing as it makes zero sense to ask you to go here, and here – to see what I’m up to on Stylicity for MasterCard Fashion Week – and not post at least two outfit posts!
So here I am. Wearing my mum’s 80′s plaid and the cheapest skirt ever – really. Oh, and the ears – yah – they are amazeballs!!! $20 from Fashion Crimes on Queen St … but you’ll have to stick around to see what else I’ve purchased through Stylicity’s great savings program!!
