Chances are if you visit my blog regularly you will have noticed that my blog encompasses a ton of photography, beyond taking the photos you see on my blog myself, I also put as much time into scouting the location for said blog post shoot as I do getting ready. Some are shot close to home, while others, like these industrial ones, are a little easier to get at in the winter times. If you look closely in my right hand you can see the remote for my camera (on zee tripod). I love taking my own photos, and while I am flattered that some amazing photographers in Toronto and else where have offered to take up residency as my official photographer (imagine?!), I am going to continue to keep it real and shoot myself, for … well, myself.
Having said that, there are things I cannot do alone, and one of them is design a new blog foundation and look for this here blog. My very good (talented, amazing, spontaneous, hilarious, design-junkie-of-a) friend Danielle is in the middle of designing my new look – well rather, our new look for my blog. So in the coming weeks expect some changes – but also some down time (but really, how consistent am I anyway?)
A lot of changes are on their way, this year has started off great – getting rid of the things around me that weigh me down, in hopes that bigger and better things are waiting for me around the corner!
Happy Valentines Day to all of the lovers out there.
Work is cray. Life is cray. I’ve given up NYFW this season for my insanity. Truly, that is the only update. As the snow falls like it’s the end of the world outside today, I am grateful I am stuck indoors with the warmth and funny men I work with. Hope you all stay warm today, as you can see, this time last week was a totally different story from the photo’s above. Also, I feel like I should note, this sweater has quickly become one of my favorites — and it is from a store I would never dream of going in – JCrew. Don’t get me wrong – I love the idea of JCrew – I just dont feel my personality aligns with who they market to. I am a little more edgy, but once in awhile I find myself swooning over bright knits and stripes … to wear with something insane, obviously.

Can you tell it’s snowing in these photos? … (look again) … yah. I wasn’t prepared. I went for brunch on Sunday with zee friends and out of nowhere (not really, I live in Canada and it’s January) it started to effing snow.
I repeat. Not. Prepared.
Either way, here I am, wearing a pair of $2 jeans my mum bought at a charity auction. I had an impulse two weeks ago for a DIY and was dying for a pair of boyfriend jeans … but being a girl who doesn’t wear jeans often – correction – three times a year – I found it sort of pointless to purchase. So I rummaged through my closet, found a hideous pair of baggy jeans and voila! I think I should do a DIY video for these … as they turned out exactly like I wanted them to.
Work is cray (man friend says Craig), and although I feel I am being bombarded with emails I honestly do find setting simple goals throughout the day helpful and encouraging. My 2013 dreams list is already panning out, two things on my list are in the works and are being concocted (haha cocted –) and I am trying to take things in stride instead of stressing over things I cannot control. One of them, as mentioned before – is to blog more … YAY two posts for 2013!
I hope your year is off to a great start, January is coming to a close and that just leaves four more months until flip-flops and lip gloss!

Oh how time flies!! Hello 2013!!
I am currently in a state of awe and grace. Aw at the fact that it is 2013 and I am turning twenty six this year, grace at the fact that 2012 will look like a cake walk compared to the insanity I have in store for 2013!!
I am so pumped at the opportunities coming my way already, and we are only seventeen days in! I am working with a ton of new talent this year, Bloggers Night Out is whipping up some amazing events and ideas, this here blog should be (I repeat, should – ) be becoming more frequent than once a week (who am I kidding, ahem, twice-a-month).
Until then though, may I introduce you to my new man. Phillip. Phillip, meet the world. Phillip was an over-the-top-not-needed-nor-necissary-partial Christmas gift from my two bestest (I know) friends (I know…). Needless to say we are inseparable, although I feel like so far it’s a one-sided relationship, for example. any chance Phillip seems to get, he jumps off the face of the earth a.k.a where ever I place him.
No worries though, it took me eight years to force the boyfriend to love me (kidding — I think?), I can handle a simple guy named Phill … I mean Lord, Sir, Phillip Lim.
I hope the holidays were cherished, time was spent relaxing and you all managed to take a moment to remember that you are an incredible human being, you are alive, and are never too young or naive to chase your dreams.
I’ve said it a million times, I don’t believe in resolutions, but I do believe in holding your dreams accountable. Write them down and watch how you grow throughout the year, you may just surprise yourself.

With only two more weeks until Christmas I can’t help but squeal every time I hear a Christmas song! Christmas truly is a magical time of year, and this year, it seems to be contagious. For the first time, in a couple of years, everybody seems to be in the holiday spirit despite the lack of snow around … but you know me, I’ll still be dreaming of a white Christmas.
My favorite thing about the holidays is spending time with my family and friends! This year will be a year of new adventures, I am headed to my grandparents to bake and have a sleep over, my man friends parents bought a place at the foot of the biggest ski and snowboard destination north of Toronto and I will be spending some of my holidays on the slopes along with cozy nights by the fire. There is no cable so board games and old movies are definitely on the agenda! The man friend coaches hockey and has entered into a tournament the last weekend of December, but has sworn it will be a blast and has booked us a suite to have a little getaway! Mostly though, I am just thrilled to be spending a consecutive week with my best friend, as we haven’t done that since June (gasp!)
To You & Yours. Happy Christmas.
