WE AIN’T GOT NOTHING ; WITHOUT LOVE

BAH! just a quick hello to fill you in on the whirlwind of what is planning for New York Fashion Week! I have been trying to keep my evenings as free as possible, for logistical reasons – and also so I don’t pull out all my hair!! As you probably know by now, I, along with five other [amazingly-talented] blogger friends are throwing a massive elite party connecting Bloggers with Brands at 404NYC – the date, Friday September 9th, is the night after Fashion Night Out – so naturally, we called it Blogger’s Night Out. Check out our website for more details, also click around to see who is involved! If you can’t make it to New York – please follow us on twitter @bloggernightout to keep you connected! We have LOADS [and literally I mean loads] of goodies and surprises up our sleeves. It is our inaugural event – but we slammed down the bias’ and stepped up our amplification to get you more than you ever expected!!

I have another two posts to do before I leave early next week – so check back Thursday!! loads of love. eek!

BLOGGER’S NIGHT OUT

So ladies and gents, I hope you are as excited as we are – we are thrilled to of come up with this amazing idea, and even more thrilled at the fantastic response we are getting from all-you-fashion-nuts!! I wanted to take a quick second and let you know who exactly is behind this idea and event. As a ton of you know, I was fortunate enough to be invited to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week last season. Whilst there I met some truly amazing girls, they have pushed me, supported me – and have ultimately become some of my closest friends. This idea started off as a one-liner email … and blossomed into scheduling, event planning, tailoring to a full blown sponsorship for all six of us.
So we decided to do something more, we wanted to create an event for bloggers – and we think we are pretty-close to perfecting the event just for you.
These girls are my daily inspiration for everything, so I definitely suggest you take a look at what they [fashionably] rant about.

marissa from the style cusp – her posts inspire my everyday wear – she is very classic with so much love to give, not to mention our common wine obsessions.
erika is the editor at style activist ; erika covers everything from events to her personal adventures through fashion, not to mention she is a workout fiend who has a rocking bod to show for it.
lynzy is from sparklingfootsteps ; lynz is a foodie, fashion, exercise junkie – she writes about her personal style and her upcoming nuptials.
christine is from view-from-5ft2 ; christine’s wardrobe is one I want to divulge myself in – I would steal it in a minute, classic lines with flowy pieces – I die.
caitlin is the editor of stylewithinreach  ; cait is the first person I met in NYC, she has her hands in a million-and-one jars, from being the editor of her own blog covering budget friendly designer wears to being a contributor on countless blogs.

I highly suggest you bookmark their blogs, and follow them on twitter if you don’t already. These girls are hilarious, they work hard and we plan to celebrate by playing hard during New York Fashion week.

I LOVE MY CITY

I don’t “do” casual very well. There was a time you see. where I wrote in the “about me” section something along the lines of “you’ll never catch me in a graphic T” … oh how the times have changed. [well - er - not really].

This T is one of four I probably own. I bought it in Venice, Italy [ironic] that is it an [obvious] take on the I LOVE NY T.

Speaking of New York City [see how I just fit that in there, lol - there is no doubt, in your mind anyway - that this post and T were done hand-in-hand].
I am headed back to New York for Fashion Week come September. My boss, my amazing boss – has allowed me to leave mid week [again] to venture off to per-sue this very thing here – called blogging. This will be my second time in New York for Fashion Week, and I am as excited as one can be – but before you judge me, roll your eyes, and mutter “nice life” … let me tell you, this here life comes at few prices – and one of them happens to be hard-effing-work.

So much hard work in fact, some of the [truly ah-maz-ing] girls I met last season and myself are teaming up on a very special collaborative project for bloggers [details to come!]
This projet I so secretly unravel, happens to be a lot of work, a lot of organization, and a lot of witty-bantering-back-and-forth-whilst-at-work-via-email-HA! None the less, work.

And I promise you – this will pay off, and it will be fabulous [explanation point].

Interest in colours I discovered myself.
If your art-life is gritty, you’ll be toastin’ my health.
If an interest in culture, you should be lining the walls,
When your birthright is interest, you could just accrue it all.

I vary when it comes to trends if you can’t already tell, my day-to-day wear consists of flowy boho chic looks with a hint of modern lines. I work in a corporate office in the chicest district of Toronto, so pencil skirts and patterned blouses seem to be my staples these days – however – when Friday rolls around – the casual-esq freedom I am allowed, I tend to take full advantage of.

I have been so busy lately I can’t keep track of anything – BUT I have invested in a moleskine that (I forgot today), but will force me to be even more uber organized than I already claim to be. This weekend is full of family time, organizing, photo-shoots and quality time with my boyfriend. Much needed down time if you ask me.

I am also in the mist of getting my things finalized for New York Fashion Week in September – and of course, I’ll keep you posted on that too.
