IN THE SHADOW OF YOUR HEART

the stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
you left me in the dark
no dawn, no day, I’m always in this twilight
in the shadow of your heart
florence & the machine – cosmic love

I’d say anyone interested in fashion has an idol or a goddess to whom she adores. Some may say Marilyn, Audrey, Madonna, Edie … or Twiggy. Others may credit the models like Ford, Christie Brinkley, Crawford, or Claudia Schiffier … mind is a tad more elaborate, a diva – and a little too much. My idol, was, and always will be, Elizabeth Taylor.

I hated her style. FACT! But her grace, her confidence – she wore that better than anyone – and everyone could smell that sweet smell, and every day – til the day I die, I will strive to smell that sweet smell.

Check out Cathy’s etsy shop here ; she really has an insane collection of jewelry! We all know how much I love pendant necklaces, especially pocket watch fob pendants. Well Cathy has gone the extra mile, and instead of using the exterior to it’s full potential, this pretty girl gets down dirty and takes apart broken watches, clocks and cogs to create something beautiful and one-of-a-kind. Next on my wish list – THIS!

Birthday & Fashion Oh My ; Style Diary

I am sick, so excuse the lack of … er … everything.

I was so delighted to of been asked to attend the amazingly-talented OR by Angela Chen fashion show. I was asked, and of course, accepted [it was also my birthday]. So I took half a day off from work to attend Angela’s show and a couple of other shows later that afternoon. Below are some of shots snapped of me while attending, as well as some from my birthday courtesy of my iphone! Next post is on Angela! So stay tuned!

I was also lucky enough to be on FASHION magazine’s website and Sweetspot.ca‘s website under STREET STYLE.

The ah-mazing Lisa drew this illustration for me for my birthday! [*blush] she has been featured on fusion of effects as well as carries her own blog! check her out here!

I had an amazing birthday, with wonderful friends [new & old] as well has the best boyfriend in the world showering me with gifts. I couldn’t of spent it with more amazingly talented people even if I wanted too. Love!

YOU SPIN ME RIGHT ROUND BABY

DIY VINYL ; this is an amazing DIY that takes literally 30 seconds in the oven, I made my first bowl for my boyfriend and he loves it! ENJOY!

WHAT YOU NEED :: a vinyl, baking sheet, bowl, oven mitts.

Place the “snack bowl” upside down onto the baking sheet. Once placed, centre the vinyl with the foot of the bowl, the shape of the bowl will determine the shape of the vinyl.

250° F [or for my Americans 120° C] and 30 – 60 seconds in the oven. *DO NOT FORGET to use oven mitts when removing the baking sheet.

taadaaa! This is a great gift for the music lover in your life. I have since filled the hole in the middle and my boyfriend is using it for his keys and loose change. Each time I have done this the shape has changed slightly – you can also [instead of flipping the snack bowl upside down onto the baking sheet] leave it right side up and place the vinyl overtop with a can in the middle, and the vinyl will form to the inside of the bowl [rather than the outside as shown above].

* note : check the value of the vinyl before use … I later found out this is worth over $70 … oops!
