HOLLA! two blog posts *gasp, in one week. wow eh? I know. I know. I am brilliant.

Not really. I think I mentioned previously that my dear blogging friend/co-worker/vegan/health nut Brigid from Otternonsense suggested that I start blogging twice a week, one outfit post from the weekend (as my vintage collection lives at my mums in the country) and one urbanite “professional” post, containing of what I wear to my office filled with handsome men, where there is no dress code, so I make it up. So there you have it, this is an example of what I wear to work, which, is never the same. I am lucky to be the only female in my office on a day-to-day basis. Brig works for the agency we hired, and is in once a week – other than that, it’s me and a bunch of men. YAY to life of a startup.

In other thoughts, can I just say … I hate the peplum trend. Yes, please re-read that sentence, and then re-look above. Yes, I realize that is the most insane thing to write, considering, I am … well… wearing peplum, but the truth is, I feel, the peplum trend isn’t for everyone … least of all me.

I try, boy do I try. In September when in NYC for Fashion Week I must of tried on over a zillion dresses, tops and skirts. For a petite girl like me, they dont make me look slim, they look like a babydoll top (and everyone, include me, would like to take a moment to thank Jesus that trend is gone for good). I feel like a wide-ass-mother-fucking-truck. There.

However, I became miraculously happy when I found this French Connection top … in truth I was sold before I even tried it on … it was the leather. We all know my obsession.

I was even happier when I tried it on and didn’t feel like a truck … small bus maybe … truck – no.

It seems that there is some secret peplum club taking place. My invite must of been lost in the mail. That’s ok, you can have your baby doll and I’ll raise you this leather trim peplum.

As I am sure you were able to tell via my social outlets that my birthday was a few weeks ago.

Yup. Twenty six.

I am proud to say, that I am exactly where I thought I’d be at twenty six … well, not six year old me, six year old me thought I would be a veterinarian with a husband and children … but pre-teen and young adult me, yah … I have finally come into my own.

As birthday celebrations are still in slew, I find myself rushing from lunch, brunch and dinner with friends – you know – playing catch up and gossiping.

Turns out I have a lot more to say than usual.

My girlfriends grilled me about what’s going on in my life, and referenced that I ALWAYS say on this here blog that things are a whirlwind and changing, but I never actually TELL you what is going on, changing or – you know … keep you involved.

It’s a fine line to walk. Exposing myself fully on the inter web. I work in the digital field and clients read my blog, sponsors read my blog, ex lovers and their friends also read my blog … but, as my girlfriends said last week fuck it, it’s my blog.

Without divulging too much now, as my Papa is in the hospital and the rest of the week is dedicated to family time. I will tell you that there will be a change in pace around here. I’m not necessarily going to take a full chapter from my girl Christina (I’ll leave the hilarity and honesty to her), but I will be telling you a bit more about my personal life, in hopes that the insane stories I do have to tell, will make you wince, laugh and maybe – just maybe – snort out loud. Here’s hoping.

BABY YOU SHOULD STICK AROUND

Ok guys, you heard it here first … I am making a vow to blog more … and by more, I don’t mean consistently lol. I mean bi-weekly. at least.

Except this week, and maybe next – lol. My friend Brigid (food blogger extraordinaire) yelled at me and insisted that every week she will shoot my photo’s to allow me to have a second post per week. fiiiine. You win B. These will be more casual as it will be what I wear to work. So enjoy that.

No really, I want to bring more to this here blog, mostly because I am now a contributor to StyleList Canada. Take a gander at this amazing site dedicated to pretty much all the things I love, but never blog about on here (because, lets be real, I can hardly keep up with my own outfits).

Other than that, winter is back in Toronto (minus the day these were shot) and all my friends seem to be on a flight to Coachella (I hate you all!!) – so as winter kicks it up one last time here (yah, thanks Mother Nature), you’ll find me curled up on the couch with my handsome man friend.

Until spring at least, I am going back into hibernation. Stay warm beauties.

Hello Spring!
As World MasterCard Fashion Week ended ( through the snow, slush and rain ) so did winter. Winter is officially gone – and with Spring on the horizon so is a ton of other things in my life. I would probably shock you with the amount of things that have changed as of late, I am moving apartments, changing boyfriends and stepping up my game on this here blog.

I have some of the most amazing friends in the entire world who have showered me with gifts for my impending birthday (April 1st) – this weekend is easter, which will be an amazing time to spend with family and friends. Things are truly falling into place in my life.

I hope you got a chance to check out the Stylicity blog I’ve worked so hard on. If you haven’t – please do! I scored this Tibi dress from Rent Frock Repeat, paired it with my favourite faux leather skirt and my new shultz pumps – minimal makeup as the dress speaks for itself! In all fairness, this look is 110% inspired by one of my favourite bloggers Krystal. She melts my heart with her wardrobe choices.

Until the next time, happy Thursday.

kendalldonaldson_9337MasterCard Fashion Week starts in less than three days and I find myself digging up new (vintage) treasures as I look in the back of my walk-in-closet. I completely forgot about this vintage skirt my Gran gave me a few years ago – you can’t tell from these pictures, but it is the heaviest thing on earth! It is made from lace and Parisian wool – my Gran picked this gem up in Paris in the 50′s – the rhinestones are original and although a little wacky – just my cup of tea.

I am honoured, again, to be working with MasterCard for the third season in a row in bringing you – my dearest readers – the very best shopping experience on the Stylicty Blog. This year MasterCard has asked me to head up a new division of their blog – the online shopping experience lol. How did they know I have an online shopping problem? dammit! I thought I was so smooth lol. In any case – check the Stylicity Blog out to keep up to date on my shopping adventures – and the other amazing bloggers covering Toronto shoppes.

TAKE ME BACK

I was lucky enough to of been asked to take part in the new French Connection #MakeAScene campaign. As you can see above, I was fortunate enough to create a (humbly) gorgeous video using footage shot for FCUK’s spring campaign. A little title, music, ambience & voila! My directorial debut!

Pretty awesome right?

Yah, well … I worked hard – what can I say … but guess what, French Connection wants YOU to get creative and create a campaign as well – but before you ask your boyfriend to film you skipping around town – hang on one second further …

French Connection has taken the complication right out – no filming is required by you (or your boyfriend) – simply click here and follow this link. Follow the easy steps: choose 6 scenes, edit, add music, add a title — tweet it out and poof – now you’re a director too!

Not only that, you have a chance to win a trip to the Sydney Film Festival (as in Australia! all expenses paid),and to see your own film clip play live in the FCUK store windows! Runner ups get a $1,000 or $500 shopping spree… and who doesn’t love a little FCUK – honestly – now get out there and #MakeAScene!

I FOLLOW

Chances are if you visit my blog regularly you will have noticed that my blog encompasses a ton of photography, beyond taking the photos you see on my blog myself, I also put as much time into scouting the location for said blog post shoot as I do getting ready. Some are shot close to home, while others, like these industrial ones, are a little easier to get at in the winter times. If you look closely in my right hand you can see the remote for my camera (on zee tripod). I love taking my own photos, and while I am flattered that some amazing photographers in Toronto and else where have offered to take up residency as my official photographer (imagine?!), I am going to continue to keep it real and shoot myself, for … well, myself.

Having said that, there are things I cannot do alone, and one of them is design a new blog foundation and look for this here blog. My very good (talented, amazing, spontaneous, hilarious, design-junkie-of-a) friend Danielle is in the middle of designing my new look – well rather, our new look for my blog. So in the coming weeks expect some changes – but also some down time (but really, how consistent am I anyway?)

A lot of changes are on their way, this year has started off great – getting rid of the things around me that weigh me down, in hopes that bigger and better things are waiting for me around the corner!

Happy Valentines Day to all of the lovers out there.

THIS ISN’T OUR PARADISE

Work is cray. Life is cray. I’ve given up NYFW this season for my insanity. Truly, that is the only update. As the snow falls like it’s the end of the world outside today, I am grateful I am stuck indoors with the warmth and funny men I work with. Hope you all stay warm today, as you can see, this time last week was a totally different story from the photo’s above. Also, I feel like I should note, this sweater has quickly become one of my favorites — and it is from a store I would never dream of going in – JCrew. Don’t get me wrong – I love the idea of JCrew – I just dont feel my personality aligns with who they market to. I am a little more edgy, but once in awhile I find myself swooning over bright knits and stripes … to wear with something insane, obviously.

TEENAGE CRIME

Can you tell it’s snowing in these photos? … (look again) … yah. I wasn’t prepared. I went for brunch on Sunday with zee friends and out of nowhere (not really, I live in Canada and it’s January) it started to effing snow.

I repeat. Not. Prepared.

Either way, here I am, wearing a pair of $2 jeans my mum bought at a charity auction. I had an impulse two weeks ago for a DIY and was dying for a pair of boyfriend jeans … but being a girl who doesn’t wear jeans often – correction – three times a year – I found it sort of pointless to purchase. So I rummaged through my closet, found a hideous pair of baggy jeans and voila! I think I should do a DIY video for these … as they turned out exactly like I wanted them to.

Work is cray (man friend says Craig), and although I feel I am being bombarded with emails I honestly do find setting simple goals throughout the day helpful and encouraging. My 2013 dreams list is already panning out, two things on my list are in the works and are being concocted (haha cocted –) and I am trying to take things in stride instead of stressing over things I cannot control. One of them, as mentioned before – is to blog more … YAY two posts for 2013!

I hope your year is off to a great start, January is coming to a close and that just leaves four more months until flip-flops and lip gloss!
