STAY BEAUTIFUL

I think the country song goes “no shirt, no shoes, no problem …“, but ask any blogger and I can guarantee you that, that mantra is not true. Well, not unless you are a country male blogger. So I am changing it to “no bra, no socks, no problem …” because HOT DANG! is it hot outside. Of course, mother nature favorites her American’s – Canada day was blissful here in Canadaland (psst* our holiday is the first of July), and as of today, July fourth, well fifth when you’re reading this – mother nature as continued to be in menopause. God bless you sista, my tan has never looked so golden.

In any case, I actually was a bit pissy taking this post, can you tell by my monotone face? urg, I am not kidding you when I say it was literally 100 degrees when I took these here photo’s (37 degrees celsius!!!).  I was sweating, debating on driving somewhere fun for this sparatic shoot – but alas, after climbing up to the rooftop to find stupid teenage shirtless boys smoking dope, I decided my floral pants and I could find a different party to crash.

So I stumbled back into my apartment, sludged my camera bag and tripod (oh, I take my own photo’s by-the-way, a few readers have asked, HI!), interupted my pup Rudiger from what I assume to be a blissful nap, and set up on my massively inappropriate balcony.

Shazam. this is what you get. dewy floral pants, no bra and a sock bun, that according to the men I work with, looks like the hiroshima bomb.

[GUEST POST] Kastles: Pants Party

Hey lovelies, My name is Kassandra from the blog Kastles. I am so honoured to be writing for the darling Kendall today. She gave me the perfect introduction in her last blog post. I love colour, patterns, prints and anything fun. Hence why today we are going to a have a little pants party over here. Printed pants are one of my favourite things right now. They are a lot more versatile than you think. You can dress them up with some heels, or dress them down with flat sandals. Plus they are just so fun to wear!

I am wearing floral pants from H&M, a Joe Fresh jersey blouse, neon purse from Target, Nine West heels, and a PinkyOtto  necklace.
I’ve scouted out the internet for a few different floral pants for you to check out:
Thank you again for reading! Enjoy the rest of your week!

WHO’S TO SAY?

This could quite possibly be one of my favorite photo’s I have shot for my blog. The outfits on my blog are not always planned in advanced. Usually they are dictated by whatever I did on the Saturday, for I shoot my blog on Sunday’s, and thrift the day before.

This past Saturday, like many – had a dedicated amount of time to thrifting. I was lucky enough to have been invited by one of my best friends to a rummage sale for 9AM! (In all honesty, this required getting up at 7:30AM to line-up half way around the block and wait). A rummage sale, for those of you who don’t know, are public garage sales of sorts, usually held in a local church and already categorized and weeded out for you. So upon entry there are rooms dedicated to things like vintage jewelry, linens, china , art and technology.

Obviously for me, clothing would be number one, but this place didn’t have any. Not to fret though, because my apartment mimic’s my clothing style, so hunting for house hold treasures is just as pleasurable. I avoided the jewelry madness and headed straight for the China and Art. I scored some amazing pieces which I will share later this summer in my Apartment Series.

After that we stumbled upon an Estate Sale down the street, we found out that the Merchandise Director for Club Monaco just moved back to Toronto from NYC and had to sell all her clothes. Woe is me. I could hear the bells! We also happened to be a) the exact same size and b) the exact same shoe size. BANG!

I walked away with four pairs of shoes, two dresses (one fully engulfed in beading), two tops and a first edition Marilyn Monroe coffee table book from the 70′s.  For $120 – I’d say that was the jackpot.

This post I am wearing one of my very favorite vintage dresses, it has a rosette texture on it, and was probably made in the 1970′s. It is classic and a very chic fit. The over coat is actually a silk house coat from the 80′s – it was my mum’s — naturally. Shoes were from my Saturday thrift adventure – estate sales are now my favorite – 5 dolla Nine West shoes!

I spy, with my little eye – something that is … PINK!

This could be one of my favorite outfits ever, although when this was shot – it was frigid-effing-cold out, so it was an inappropriate outfit for that particular day. I just couldn’t help but be inspired by the mass amounts of sunshine that has been glowing as we slowly exit winter.

I feel as though this rather odd and wacky outfit really depicts me well – ha! The blouse is a thrifted treasure – I literally clapped and jumped up-and-down in the store. The bold colour, and seemingly random pattern (animal print, chains, floral, golden goodness? what the?) – I just had to snatch it – even if it was six sizes too big. Meh.

So I had an impulsive urge last week to purchase something - just an itch, a tick if you will – and what did I end up purchasing? neon pink sockets. Oh lord. At least I managed to work them into the post, otherwise the $9.98 would of been completely useless – considering I only wear black socks.

Beyond that, the Marketing Magazine conference was amazing – I learned a lot, networked and was told our panel was great! Since then I have been asked to blog as part of a trio, tripod for World MasterCard Fashion Week here in Toronto. The trio includes myself, the seemingly gorgeous Marta from WithLoveGabrielle.com and the most stylish man candy, Spiro from ItsAllStyleToMe.com. So keep a look out, we will be tweeting, blogging and pinning for MasterCard – also I will be including tid-bits here on the new stylicity tab at the top of my blog, this will feature my wild adventure around Queen Street West – and West of the wicked West…

Thanks for all the love, and I hope you enjoy the ride…

SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW

This is just a QUICK post! The expo and conference the team and I have been planing for the last year of our lives ended yesterday, and I couldn’t be more proud or happy!! It went off without a hitch, apparently twitter was abuzz and we were a trending topic! NOTHING warms my heart more than to know hard work has paid off. Now I am off to get organized for 2013, and concentrate on the content that was provided and making sure it is available throughout this thing we here call the interweb.

Besides that, BNO is in full swing for February. Details will be released next week so please stay tuned! LOADS of love to you, my friends, family, boyfriend and readers for putting up with my lack of blogging over the last three months.

Now that I have a segment of my life back, I will get back into the groove. Loads of love.

MINE IS YOURS

Did I ever tell you that I have been the same height since the eighth grade? – seriously. Actually once upon-a-time I was considered tall [a mere 5"zip]. I was always the girl beaming brightly in school class photos – standing in the back, in the middle – and like a pyramid those around me cascaded downwards … until high school … when everyone else started to grow, and I had reached 5″zip. I had to adjust to things, my big personality from a pint-sized [egotistical] miner-niner allowed me to be a social queen in school – it also meant that I had a bagillion items of clothing once I reached grade twelve – because even then – I was 5″zip.

I still wear the same clothes from grade nine from time-to-time, but these days I much prefer things with a different colour of history – I have been stealing my mom’s clothes – a lot lately. In fact – she began to physically notice. No longer were things borrowed, I may of [accidentally...intentionally] stolen something from her. Oops. See the gold link bracelet above? yah? I got an email this week “Dear Daughter, next time you want to steal a solid piece of gold from my jewelry collection, be so kind as to tell me before I see it on instagram”. Again. Oops.

In all fairness, two items in the above outfit are mine. Kind of.

I should point out though, that a) I am wearing jeans [kill me now! if you read my blog - you'd know I loathe them] and b) they were my mothers classic skinny zip Levis … that she wore … after her pregnancy with me. [HI MOM!]

FIRST FROST

Oh. Hello Gorgeous! The weather here in Toronto, as you can see from this post – has been beautiful. There is a chill in the air, but it is nothing short of a crisp breath-of-fresh-air. I fell in love with this cozy knit sweater as soon as I stumbled upon it at the LF Store on 5th Ave in NYC, the sales girl convinced me to buy it – who am I to fight her off? Whilst in NYC I only got out once – and it was my  second last day. I was pulling my hair out from being so busy – I needed a little “me” time and took to the streets with my camera and wallet. I did all my damage at LF. I didn’t even bother going anywhere else. The tuxedo back of this white knit is my ultimate favorite feature – I have been searching for the perfect knit and gasped when I found it. Definitely a new added staple. Welcome home sweater.

These days though, I have been channeling my inner nerd – work is beyond insane, BNO is fabulously insane, and my Tortuous and Blonde glasses happened to arrive just-in-time to perfect, the very [insane] nerd-esq look. – I couldn’t help but mix textures in this outfit though, the massive [8ft] angora scarf, the polka-dot razor back, the ultimate teal JBrand coated pants and the velvety hunter wedges tops it all off. AH, alas – this is such a Sunday staple for me, even on a Sunday, heels are on my feet.

Other than the above rambles – there isn’t much of an update on my end, work, design, work, rudiger, wine! I hope you all enjoy this upcoming weekend and get some much needed me time in, and don’t forget to snuggle your little Rudiger!
